Does anyone have the recipe for Amy Nelson's Strawberry Biscuit Cake

She was on The Kitchen this morning, and they do not have the recipe printed on their site along with the other recipes made. I understand it/she were Pillsbury Bake Off winners, as well. I would love to have this beautiful recipe now that strawberry season is in full swing.

So crazy, she was on The Kitchen yesterday, making the recipe. Why would she be on there featured

with the Strawberry Biscuit cake, if the recipe is a secret. I know she used the tube biscuits, and there was something she added to her whip cream, sour cream? It was so easy and stunning to look at. The food network posted all the recipes made, except tor that one. I really like this lady, she seems very down to earth and spoke from the heart. Thanks for that link, it was a nice read.

I also struck out but the good news is the show will be aired again on Aug 26 and 27. She gives all

the amounts and instructions on the show, except for the whipped cream topping which is a mix of whipped cream sour cream with sugar. You can wing that. She called for a can of Grands flaky layer biscuits placed tightly in a 9 inch cake pan, sprinkled with 2 tablespoons of Demerara sugar and baked for 15 minutes at 350. Cooled and sliced in half horizontally.

She put a cup of strawberry jam or preserves in a large bowl and microwaved for a minute to loosen the mixture and then stirred in two quarts of quartered strawberries. I assume the preserves would be warm but not hot. Pretty sure it wouldn’t take a whole minute in my microwave.

She said she likes to let the strawberry mix sit for awhile to draw out some juice as she likes it kind of sloppy.

She spread all but a big spoonful of the berries on the bottom biscuit layer, placed the top on it and spread the whipped cream, sugar and sour cream mix in the center but left a border of the biscuit showing. She topped that with the last spoonful of berries and sprinkled a few candied pecans on top of that.

Went back and double checked. Didn’t give any measurement for the cream mix but did say she whipped the cream to soft peaks, added sugar and sour cream and whipped again. My guess is about a cup of cream, they had it already whipped. Looked like 3-4 T. of sugar, and maybe a half cup of sour cream. That is just a guess.

Thanks Curious! I had a DUH! moment when I realized I record those shows to watch later on Saturday

so, I went back through it just now, and wrote in all down. You are spot on with everything. No measurements of sour cream, heavy cream or sugar, but assuming she used one of those pint containers of heavy cream, and maybe 1/ 2 cup sour cream and 1/4 cup sugar?? Did it look like that to you? I suppose you could do it to taste, as well.

Gay, you are the site's Sleuth EXTRAORDINAIRE! The next time I misplace my glasses or my coffee cup

I am calling on YOU. Smile.
