Hmm. We have Jonagolds here--Jonathans + Golden Delicious. But they were developed in NY.

Yes, they're good but different. Another old timey apple I never see is winesap.

I've never cared for Red Delicious apples and have wondered why they were popular.

I just hate to see trees destroyed. After the ice storm here,

the Country Club that borders the road I drive along, cut down some old trees, their trunks literally at least 4 ft in diameter. I still get a stomach ache when I see them.
