Fennel seed question? I kind friend gave me a bag full of fennel flowers

that had gone to seed. When I look closely at the seed pods that appear to have popped open. Exactly what part of the seed does one use? Have these flowers already purged the seed part that I am looking for?

The seeds look like caraway or cumin seeds, only they are a little fatter and a little

lighter in color. Bite them and you get a rush of licorice flavor. Toast them and use them in soups, curries -- they are wonderful!

You should be able to plant them in your area. Plant them like dill. The butterflies love them!
