Final post from London

Heading home…well, to NYC first then home.

I must have maxed out my thread space because I couldn’t load this video clip at the end of my London post. Let’s try it as a new one.

THIS video explains my reticence in giving scones a second chance. The $10 ones later on at the Science Museum were good…but this first purchase on my third day…well, LISTEN for yourself because THIS was the following day:

Well…apparently NOT the last post.

I was walking down New Bond Street again—home to every expensive/exclusive name I know and when I passed this store…

…I noticed this delivery truck parked next to it:

…because apparently you can’t deliver diamonds in a UHaul.

Ellie Mae Clampitt biscuits!

monj,

Since it was raining the ENTIRE time I was there, I spent all days at the library researching calligraphy or getting hot lentil soup at Whole Foods across the street…or Danish pastry “Chocolate Social” from Ole & Steen (Danish bakery…across 40th from Whole Foods).

Damn, that pastry was good. I had tried Ole & Steen’s infamous Cardamom roll while in London and was unimpressed. Thank goodness I didn’t try the Chocolate Social until NYC.

This was the main calligrapher I was reviewing:

And then I saw “Oh Mary” at the Lyceum, which was hilarious.

So while I didn’t get to walk the High Line again like I did at the start of this trip, NYC was still a treat.

Now I’m back home and just walked around the lake. Laundry next.

Darn, I was hoping you were here later in the week as the weather cleared. Painting with words, what a wonderful way to describe calligraphy. Looks interesting, thanks for sharing. I looked up Ole & Steen and the Chocolate Social looks pretty darn good. 😋 Your lake walk looks so nice. After all of your walking during your trip, you must have some really great walking shoes.

Shoes were KEEN

They were absolutely perfect while in London...but TERRIBLE on wet NYC streets. All the metal grates and any marble steps felt very slippery. I would have been dead in London going up/down all those Underground steps.

One last thing to share (at least for now...or until I think of something else to post).
This British Airways safety clip actually made me (and others around me) laugh out loud. What a clever, witty way to get customers to listen:

Enjoy! I did...both times.

Totally get the hesitation now audio says it all! Funny how one bad bite can almost ruin a whole food for you. Glad the Science Museum ones redeemed the experience a bit!
