Follow up on firemen dinner

Traca, I'm so sorry to hear about your boyfriend, that's tough

I hope for a full recovery for him.

I used to work for the local police dept. and was stationed part time in a part of a fire house within our city, that was used as a sub-station for the police. The fireman are very protective of their space and because of their schedules, consider the firehouse their home away from home.
You were lucky it all went so smooth for you, especially with the lack of communication at the start. It is amazing how high tech the stations have become and being mostly men, they never gave a thought to telling you the information you needed to know, nor did they have the time. I'm happy it all went so well for you.

 
You're a braver soul than I am! Then again, I've never cooked in an emergency fire department.
