Going to stay with people in Canada - what 1 little TJs thing would you take?

Something very exclusive to TJs, or California?

That TSA won't frisk me for, that is smileys/smile.gif

CA Navel Oranges! Love them! CA wine would be great, but customs won't allow it in a carry-on

bag unless it's bought at the terminal, where, of course, everything is overpriced. You could always pack it in your luggage, though, if it's well padded, but the way they throw luggage around, it's probably too risky.

TJ's

How about one of the pound plus chocolate bars? I personally love their extra virgin olive oil.

I would take items that are absolutely unique so that no version of it exists here.

We get lots of CA oranges and CA wines. It has been so long since I`ve been to TJs that I can`t recall. Much of our products come from CA in the winter months so unusual prepared foods would be fun.

Also depends on where in Canada. West coast, lots of SW type foods here but if people in the east like SW or Mexican, those items are difficult to find. When I lived in the east, I would always return with a box of poblanos, as they were not available there. Posole.

And if your friends are rural, that again opens a whole realm of desirable gifts.

Yes, rural - in the Gulf Islands. Need to take 3 gifts that won't take up a lot of room

in my luggage. Prepared gourmet items as in....?
Where are you located Marg?

What gulf are we talking about Sorry I cannot access the question mark

without rebooting.

I`m west now.

I second the pound plus bars

We generally have one going at all times for a quick bite of chocolate and the almond-less versions are great for chopping and adding to baked goods. Colleen

Their dried fruits and nuts will pack easily

and some of their fruit and nut combo packs are quite unique. The shelled pistachio meats, coconut slices, dried tart cherries, crystalized and un-candied ginger and dried pineapple are some of our favorites. I just picked up a pound package of their Jumbo Raisin Medley. Colleen

I did think of the pound plus bars but I need 3 so it would add 3 lbs (plus) to luggage smileys/smile.gif

I may still do that as they are so yummy.
