"Grandma's Thanksgiving Cake" was a total hit at Thanksgiving this year.

Richard, thanks so much for field testing these for us. I was tempted by the apple pie, good input.

Richard, Thank you for the feed-back. What was it about the apple pie you did not

like? I was going to try it this week-end. I look forward to your comments.

notes on the marinated apple pie

there was too much flour, too much nutmeg, and even for me, too much cinnamon. it was very cloying. Also, all of that flour turned it into a gloppy mess that congealed into a apple studded paste. I think it also insulated the apples from baking and even though I baked the pie 15 minutes longer than usual, the apples were still al dente, which I abhor.

The rescue: cut the pie in half, scoop out the filling, cook it on the stove top until the apples are done, use a slotted spoon to strain the apples out of "sauce" and pour it back into the upward tilted empty pie shell, seal with a strip of foil, and cool in the upright and locked position.

Will not be making this again ever.

Oh, boy what a terrible experience....I think I will pass on trying it. Thank you so much for the

critique.
