Great veggie dip: Sour Cream & Sumac Sauce from Jerusalem

This is a cool area! I wish I could remember the name of the store, had preserved lemons, turkish

halvah, all sorts of baked goods. Interesting!

Fairways? Sis brought me there also... It was amazing... One of those places that you

are in the parking lot thinking that you should have purchased the preserved lemons, Branston pickle, red lentils, etc, etc....

Fattal's & Nouri Brothers--one block from the other--several grinds of bulgur depending.

on use; fresh fill; lebanese yogurt; nuts; a deli section with stuffed grape leaves, eggplant and chickpea spreads, etc; bins of olives; spices; assorted feta cheeses (try the French or the Bulgarian).

Nothing like a fresh warm pita right from the oven.

Za'atar is a type of wild thyme. It is endangered and rare so they came up with a blend

for using . The common blend includes thyme, oregano, sumac , salt, toasted sesame seed (usually mortared.)

Making this tonight and more

I’m making the Turkey and Zucchini burgers with the Sour Cream and Sumac sauce tonight. I have had and have made the plain hummus and the Hummus Kawarma with lemon sauce. The pictures in the book do not do the recipes justice.

This was so delicious, I used it on artichokes and asparagus and want to dip ALL THERE IS in it.

Thank you so much for sharing it!
