Had to share this bit of good news...My photo is featured in Travel & Liesure's 50 Best New U.S.

I'm so glad to hear you say that. I read a Nat'l Geographic book recently and they said

on the average 5 week shoot, photographers come back with 30,000 images!

Keeping track of all those photos is a serious challenge....I hope to take some classes over the next year and beef up my skills. Luckily, I've had the opportunity to see several photographers talk about their work and each time, I learn a little bit more.

The Whole Enchilada, PLUS the responsibility of the Finer Kitchens Corporate Staff, that has respect

for the real success of their site. Chowhound is very close. Finer Kitchens should be commended on their ability to keep the bullshit out of their website. Condinaste seemed to thrive on negativity. I was off of Epi maybe 3 years when I heard Richard in Cincy hung out here, man, I was here that day! There were several of us who offered Condinaste Corporate to fly there, and find out how to cut the bullshit. Oh well....they said no.

Emotional foodie roller coaster....how did you know?

After two big events back to back, I've spent the last couple days rehashing the parties...what went wrong, what could I do better, what were the peaks & valleys, etc. Then I spent the next two days editing photos, e-mailing folks, sending a slew of thank you notes.

When the dust settled, I should have been elated, but wasn't. The nights that are smooth and dreamy are just like magic. Other times, I wonder what the heck I'm doing at all!

Then, last night I bumped into this woman and I was still a little bit fragile and she says, "You never blog anymore. I dropped you from my list." Ah...lovely. Oh well, to say things have been a little busy lately is quite the understatement. But still...I'm working on that tough outer shell...

Work in progress....(I need a sticker slapped to my back "under construction.") smileys/smile.gif

I read a book by Dirck Halstead about his career and when the Monica Lewinsky

scandal broke out, he couldn't get her blazing red lips out of his mind.

Turns out, he hired an assistant to troll through his thousands of photos. After several days they uncovered a powerful image he'd taken before everything went down. Imagine how many photos that guy has as a professional photographer assigned to the White House (at the time.) Smart of him to hire someone to look through all those photos for him...

Traca,

why in the world would you let an obscure person's comment bother you? Or even an non-obsure?
Honestly woman, you are doing great, more than that, you are making a great name for yourself. you are interviewing chefs that I would love to meet, let alone question. The list goes on and one. Suck it up gurly, and embrace the life you are living. Have confidence in yourself and don't let other people rain on your parade. You are so lucky to be involved with the people you are around. I am around Bubba. (smile) And for that, I am too thankful.

Traca, you're doing great.

You don't need a "tough outer shell." That woman needed some manners. What a thing to say!

You just keep at it and things will fall into place. You're clearly putting a lot of time and effort into things. And the thank you notes are a nice touch. smileys/smile.gif
