everyone is busy working - It is really a child's holiday here. But we all love candlelighting and it takes place everywhere you go.

So here's what I make.

a hearty soup - this year it was Mushroom,Barley soup from Molly Katzen's moosewood cookbook.

Leek Patties

Ricotta Fritters

Carrot Fritters

I usually do a sweet potato latke and/or a potato but this year this was enough.

 
Elaine - it sounds delicious!

I think my favourite part of Hanukka is when we light the candles, I think about all the others, across the globe, doing the same thing. It warms my heart.

ooooo... sweet potato latkes! What do you serve with them? Are they made the same as potato ones?
