Happy 2012 one and all from snowy Ottawa, in Canada.

The Rose Parade is never on a Sunday. (According to my not-CA-born-but-bred parents.) smileys/wink.gif

Sorry--didn't mean to reply to myself.

My dad once said that it was okay to talk to yourself, and even to answer yourself. But if you started having three-way conversations, you had a problem. smileys/smile.gif

For your lunch-break pleasure:

We always watched when we lived in California, but once we moved to Colorado, everyone had usually moved on to other things by 10 am. However! I'm plunking down in front of the computer tomorrow at 11 am with a few baguette slices and jam and espresso from our new-to-us machine and watching at least the first hour. smileys/smile.gif

My sister told me that there is a Pasadena ordinance that the Rose Parade

can not be held on a Sunday because the church bells would scare the horses, so that's why it's on a Monday if New Year's Day falls on a Sunday.

Isn't that funny? We used to live on the old parade route when I was a wee baby.

Oh that sounds great and I just happen to have that in the house. Thanks!

I have mushrooms too but I might save them for pizza. I think all the rich food has caught up with me, tonight I didn't each much.

Thanks, Erin! I'll also be watching. If anyone asks, I'll be watching a work-related-webinar.

You're welcome! Somehow, the year doesn't go well for me unless I start it w/ the Rose Parade. smileys/smile.gif

a belated happy new year from the frozen north. -15. brrrrr. I was w/o computer as well. but a

nice fire and my knitting kept me warm and snuggly with DH as well.
