Thank you all for your great birthday wishes, and a special thank you to Lin! I didn't

feel like making a cake, because I've been making so many lately that I'm all "caked out," so last night I made a bittersweet chocolate ice cream base and I'll process it tonight. I'll probably make myself a cake later on in the week. I'm having Angus filet mignon for dinner - a real treat for me, since I rarely (pun intended) eat red meat. Plus, my husband is actually cooking - another rare treat - this happens a few times a year. In all fairness to him, he does most of the prep work and all the clean up, but forget about cooking. And don't even think about asking him to make a cake - it would probably explode in the oven!

Thanks again to everyone! You all helped to make this a Very Happy Birthday for me.

My husband made a great dinner last night - simple, but delicious, and exactly what I wanted -Angus filet mignon, baked potato, and steamed broccoli. The Chocolate Ganache Ice Cream turned out incredibly well - ultra-creamy, deep, deep chocolatey, and very rich. My husband found it almost too rich, but for me, it was sheer perfection!
