First of all, I woke up thinking it was Sunday, tee hee, I was up too late last night I guess! smileys/smile.gif

This morning I'm heading out on BART to the East Bay to have lunch with a girlfriend, our birthday get together! We're going to lunch at some darling place she knows that serve their sandwiches on tables made out of ironing boards!! Can't wait to see this place. Apparently their sandwiches are amazing.

Tonight, I am not cooking! I ordered BBQ from an underground place here, you email in your order and they deliver this amazing stuff. I have to meet Ben in the alley near my pad, cash and cell in hand. I tease him that it's our drug deal, so funny! (There is never any parking on my street sndits too busy to allow double-parking, do the alley is the only spot where he can pull up and meet me. Really, truly!!). So tonight I'm getting their amazing pulled pork, North Carolina style, with their tangy vinegar sauce, coleslaw and sweet potatoes. Yum! I use that Hawaiian bread to make little pulled pork sliders. (groan).

Tomorrow is the Stitch and Pitch knitting group at the A's game, playing the White Sox. Not only do we get knitting swag but a retro A's jersey too. I don't wear stuff like that but they make great gifts! I'm looking forward go the chorizo hotdog at the ballpark with a giant plastic bottle of Corona Beer! And a Rolaid!

Now that I've seen Steve2's green chile chilaquila recipe, I really want to make that for dinner Sunday night. Don't you love having breakfast for dinner? Although I think chilaquilas are for any meal.

Next week I'm going to eat more salads. After so much celebrating this week and eating 1/3 of a St Honore cake ALL BY MYSELF, I'm feeling rather more fluffy than usual. Look how gorgeous it was. Pastry, vanilla sponge, creme patisiere, whipped cream, custard filled cream puff!!!

This afternoon I'm buying a hula hoop!! If you don't hear from me next week please send a cute fireman to my pad, because I'll probably be on the floor in a heap with a dislocated stomach or something!!! Besides salads, what are your favorite "slenderizing" meals?

Happy weekend to you all!!

Happy Birthday, Heather! smileys/smile.gif For slenderizing, try beans/bean salads/hummus. Filling and healthy.

Happy Birthday Heather. I'm still laughing at the thought you buying pork in an alley! '-D

p.s. My Six

1. Went for Korean lunch and a movie with Sandra yesterday; very good kimchi, bibimbop, and sul long tang!

2. We tried to figure out my great-grandmother's dumpling recipe, which uses biscuit dough--why? How? In any case, there are piles of apples sitting on our counter, so I have to figure it out, today.

3. Cookbook thing (the link) has to launch in two weeks. A bit far behind. Put too much time into the blog/PR/marketing side, and not enough into the editing and organizing side. Wish me luck.

4. You know those school lectures where they'd show you how bad smoking was for you? I need one of those, but for junk food.

5. Julie & Julia was excellent. smileys/smile.gif Saw my fish and meat markets!

6. Dinner tonight is some sort of chicken-and-dill pasta salad. There should be some kind of cream in there, right? Sour?

Happy weekend to all of you. smileys/smile.gif

Here goes--

First thing this week, is go through cupboards for outdated stuff. Thought I was keeping up till I pulled down a package of Sure-Jell dated 20-- Oh never mind!!! Reading ingredients, not sure anything in there could go bad? Tossed it.

Tables were ironing boards?? Sounds like a fun day.

The NC pulled pork is about the only pork I eat.

Having blackened salmon for lunch with a salad.

Roasting a chicken for tonight and next week.

need to pull faded flowers off, a week of sun they went nuts--especially pansies. Also cut poppies back. Hummingbirds are happy.

I seem to have an ongoing diet project to maintain. Am lucky to really enjoy fish, salads, veggies,I must admit a chocolate fix now and then--really have to watch the wine for excess calories!!With the chocolate, I do find I am a bit of a snob, but seems a bite or so of really good stuff seems to be all I want. otherwise, it's like potato chips?

Happy Birthday!!!!! &
Have a super weekend everyone!!!

who has a video camera? I say we "drop a dime" on Heather and wait for the Narc's to show up '-D

now you did it? I'm laughing again!! Do they have badges with little pigs on them??

about the dumplings...are they filled dumplings or the kind cooked in the fruit? The latter are a

bscuit-like dough.

They're filled + baked, based w/ simple syrup. I used a biscuit dough, and they turned out fine. smileys/smile.gif
