Has anyone been to Haiti?

I usually go to a travel clinic when I go to out of the ordinary places. They seem to have

a lot more information than my Dr. By the way, the pills are individually packaged so they haven't been touched. smileys/smile.gif

I always forget to pack extra bags but they come in very handy. And the passport copies are a must.

I took photos of my documents and e-mailed them to myself. Even if I loose everything, I can grab them from a computer.

Travel clinics are terrific. They're up on the latest and most specific issues in

regions. A malaria outbreak in Africa may not be the same malaria strain in Haiti. The shots aren't cheap and usually aren't covered by insurance (maybe work will pay for them?), best to get the "right" shots first go around.

I've also found a lot of duct tape (wrap around a pencil or something to save space) is handy

Its amazing the times you wished you had a little tape - for repairs, holding something closed - or open.

At a filtration rate of 1.89 liters per min., if your entire group kicked in $20 each, it's a deal.

Congratulations on the new job Michael! At least your trip will be an adventure. Are you going to

stay in Sarasota?

It's a two hour drive each way so we will move to Naples. I'm already over the commute!

Getting the house ready to put on the market now.

Michael, if you can stand the perfume, Avon's "Skin So Soft" is the ONLY thing that

worked on me when camping to keep mosquitoes away. Trust me. I've tried every product on the market. Apparently they are drawn to my carbon dioxide emissions because it's certainly not my charming sleep-deprived personality.

I can be swaddled in blankets up to--and over my head--while Larry lies there buck-nak#'d with no blankets and the mosquitoes will still feast on me.

SOS is oily, so that's going to mess up the blankets big time, but at least you'll be able to get some sleep.

Good luck!

I wholeheartedly agree with everything Mar said! The stuff is the

ONLY thing that will work on me! I don't think it's really heavily perfumed, more like a soft baby powder smell to me and I found that I didn't have to really put it completely on me. Just some key spots. Neck area, a few swipes on the arms, a swab on the belly and back and a few on the leg areas. Oh, and my butt!!! They will bite me through heavy jeans. Nasty little buggers. Like Marilyn, they actually bite me through the blanket and John is ignored!

I'm right there with you, Traca! Many classics are free. So far I've listened to:

Peter Pan
Grimms Fairy Tales
Swiss Family Robinson
Adventures of Sherlock Holmes
Sign of Four
Wizard of Oz
Tom Sawyer
Huckleberry Finn
House of Seven Gables
Lost World
Around the World in 80 Days
The Magnificent Ambersons
