Has anyone used the SideSwipe paddle attachment for their KitchenAid??

I saw this and thought "oh, I've GOT to have that", so put it on my *wish* list. I've been reading reviews and saw this cool side-by-side video. Anyone?

Cheezz, here is the one I bought. I got it about a year ago and used it last

Christmas for all my cookie baking. It really does work like the video says. It cleans the sides of the bowl and there is no longer that little pile of flour left in the bottom center of the bowl. I really like it. I am not sure if there is a difference in the "sideswipe" vs the "metro" styles.

Now if there was only someway to avoid that little puff of flour that happens as you add flour to the egg/butter mixture. After a day of baking my kitchen ends up with a cloud of flour coating everything. Yes, I've tried using that clear plastic collar that came with the mixer but it just gets in the way. And, I've tried mixing with a dishcloth draped over the mixer but that too is a pain........

I have one for my old KA -- had to get it online, Sur la Table sells them but not

the one for my machine. I LOVE IT!!!!!!!

I have one and I love it!

As soon as you find a way to avoid the dreaded Flour Puff, please please post it.
I have also used the plastic collar, but I don't think it's that effective and I usually end up with flour that has leaked out the bottom of it.

now see, all the reviews I read said the same thing!!! It occurs to me

after looking at the design of each, is that the one you both have has the solid rubber edges where it meets the bowl -- I think that is the cause of the flour puff. With the SideSwipe, it allows for air flow between the blue rubber bits as it swirls around (just my opinion....)

I was in Williams Sonoma and saw the Beater Blade - the middle bits are plastic, not metal!

The reviews I saw seemed to have some concern over this because they said it was flimsy plastic and they were afraid it would break

I bought the same one and love it. I was a little skeptical

about it being plastic, but so far no problems.

I've been using my BeaterBlade for over a year now. Like it very much...the only

time I saw an issue was with buttercream. The rubber blades seemed to squeak more against the sides of the bowl for some reason.

Otherwise, I love it. Unfortunately, it's the only one I've tried, so I can't give a comparison.

In fact, I haven't used the KA paddle blade since getting this one.

Read the directions for raising your beater a little and it looks pretty easy. I have the K45SS too.

i have one and it started to lose the small scrapers about the

sixth use. At least they are blue and easy to pick out. No longer use.
