Has anyone used the SideSwipe paddle attachment for their KitchenAid??

Nov/Dec issue of CI has a follow-up on the SideSwipe. KA is voiding the warranty if the blade is
used and the machine is damaged as a result. According to the article, KA says the blade strains the motor due to the friction from the fins.
CI says that to their knowledge, no other mixer manufacturer has stated a similar finding. CI also states they've not noticed any motor straining while testing the SideSwipe. Their conclusion is: If you steer clear of stiff bread dough or any recipe requiring extended mixing, the risk of using the SideSwipe appears minimal.

I haven't had that problem. Maybe they were running it too fast?
