among other boo boos.
Got a call as I was finishing up my grocery shopping that MIL had been taken to the hospital with potential heart attack. We had 'given' her the trip to SIL for her Christmas so she is in MD not her home in OH.
So when I got home, no one was in the mood for the steak & lobster dinner that we normally fix since it's mom & dad's anniversary & they are always here on Christmas eve.
So the lobster tails were still frozen when I purchased them. I thought I was throwing them in the freezer but I knew they sure made a lot of noise. It was live clams in their shells. Can I thaw and cook them safely or do I just toss? I know you can freeze them after they are cooked but what about not cooked?
Then second boo boo - completely forgot everything I bought & since I didn't unload it all & put it away, the lobster tails & a jar of oysters got left on the floor in the laundry room overnight. Since DH doesn't like oysters & they were $4, they are in the trash. But it was about $40 worth of lobster tails. Since they were frozen or at least partially frozen when I purchased them & they still felt pretty cool when I remembered them (well the clams actually but since I had reveresed them...)at 7am and I immediately put them in the fridge, do you think they are safe?
Now it looks as if we have to cancel the return plane trip & the limo that picks her up in Columbus to take her to Springfield. I know we'll get a credit for the plane but the website on the transportation says there is a $50 cancellation policy - we called the owner Christmas Eve & told him what was going on & he's a great guy that we have used before so I am crossing my fingers he'll waive that. I just hate thinking I am throwing away about $100 of food to top it all off.
