I am not going to get it because I am happy with the Anova for two reasons: I can store it in a drawer and not keep any space for it on the counter. And the other thing is, this mellow model doesn't seem to be able to handle larger cuts of meat - I can place the Anova in a huge plastic bin and cook a full brisket if needed.

but, no doubt it is a sleek machine, and super cool!

 
I have never really been interested in sous vide..

because I wonder how 'boiled' the food tastes. (I'm a fan of the Maillard reaction.) But the 'cool' factor of the Mellow is very enticing, especially as I am a technology teacher.

 
let me clarify

Actually, it doesn't stop sucking, just stops pulling a vacuum. It could suck forever but not finish if you don't push in the right place.
