Hi Meryl,
I have been lurking a lot because of many sad things. I know how you feel. My mom is going through the same thing. Her big focus is to try to get her daily routine down, you know, the basics like breakfast and dinner, a nap, getting a shower, getting the mail. Her entire routine for the last year plus was taking care of my dad and everything went out the window. I helped her get the house in perfect order and all the paperwork filed for her to keep it going. The amount of paperwork generated by someone being ill then passing away is staggering, it was an avalanche. Is there someone who can help you with that? Wish I lived nearby, I'd pop over, make you a cup of tea, get out my file folders and blitz through. Mom told me this last week she has decided to rejoin the world of the living. She's trying to think about the garden, despite the looming drought, and about things she wants to do. There are oceans of tears for all of us. I send you my warmest hugs and my thoughts for you to just focus on each day, - what are you going to do today - schedule a nap, a movie on tv, make a batch of cornbread or something little and mundane.
many many hugs - Heather
