Ang, if you look at the second photo at the final grouping of house pictures
there is a small red/white christmas tree sitting on a green box. It's the back of the house. That is the battery pack for the lights and takes four (4) AA batteries. I couldn't cover it up because I knew I would need to switch out batteries before the 4 week display was up. I did consider making a teeny-tiny tree skirt, but thought the folks manning the lunch table might not know where to look for the on-off switch.
I was concerned about how long they would actually last, (7 feet long, 18 LED lights...bought at Target, $7) & came up with ~20 hours. The LED company won't give any time frames.
I guess I should have been more concerned that there was actually a house for them to be run out of batteries on.
