I found a 3D cookie cutter of a dragon! Now I need a cookie recipe that works.

After a frustrating week of breaking my favorite glass bowl and then searching in vain at SEVEN thrift shops to locate a replacement, I ended up ordering one from Amazon.

Then, to rub salt in the wound, I decided to stop back in one yesterday and found...no NOT an 8" clear Corning ware glass bowl. I'm not THAT lucky. Instead, I found a set of 3D cookie cutters from an etsy store in the UK. For $3! The Thrift Store Gods had finally smiled upon me.

I looked the images up and AI says this:
The UK utilizes a rich tapestry of symbolic beasts, with the
lion representing England's strength and royalty, the
red dragon acting as a powerful symbol of Wales, and the
stag (or white hart) representing nobility and untamed wilderness.
The wolf appears frequently in English and Scottish heraldry as a charge or supporter.

Ya. Sure. Okay. Let's face it. All I care about is the dragon!

Does anyone have a recipe that would work with these?

I would use this recipe as it was developed to go with cookie molds. I like it so much I use it for all my sugar cookies. If you are concerned they won’t keep shape chill a few mins before going into the oven:

Originally from Brown Bag Cookie Art, Sugar Cookies that came with their cookie molds. I use the nutmeg option.
Servings: Yield: 5-8 large cookies depending on size of mold.

Ingredients
    • 1/2c softened butter
    • 3/4c sugar
    • 1 “medium” or “large” egg (not extra large or jumbo)
    • 1T milk or cream
    • 2c flour
    • 1/4t salt
    • 1/4t nutmeg (or cinnamon)
Steps
    • Thoroughly cream butter by hand.
    • Add sugar and mix till fluffy.
    • Beat in the egg and then the milk.
    • In a separate bowl mix together all dry ingredients. Stir them into the butter.
    • Knead the dough for just a minute.
    • Chill the dough, then form the cookies as directed (in the molds, and then removed to a cookie sheet) and bake at 350ºF for 10-12 minutes or until edges brown.
If this doesn’t work, I’d be surprised if it didn’t, reach out to SallyBR at her cookie blog. I know she’s made this type of cookies.
