RECIPE:
c'mon Meryl, just try it. You might find that your taste buds have grown up smileys/smile.gif

Next you're gonna say you hate cilantro too (another one of those you-gotta-grow-up-before-you-like-it herbs).

Me too, I absolutely love cheese but don't care too much for sharp cheddar, though I do eat it very

little.

When I was expecting my son, my older brother Lou, got me a job in The cheese shop in Woodbridge Center NJ, any way, in order for me to recommend cheeses (there were literally 100's of cheeses world wide sold in this specialty store)I was given samples to bring home and "try" so I can give honest recommendations.

I later came to find out that they didn't do that, the owner was a very good friend of my brother's and Lou knew how much I loved cheese and since I was having the first child of us siblings this was Lou's way of being a great brother.

Cool huh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Here's a few more tips that are fun, Since you twisted my arm Sandi

Silly Putty (toy): Used to collect cat fur and lint- flatten silly putty into a pancake and pat the surface~ Used to strengthen hands and forearm muscles-squeeze silly putty for ten minutes every day

Toothpaste: removes ink spots from cloth-squeeze toothpaste (colgate) on spot, scrup, and rinse thoroughly. Removes crayon from walls-Brush the marks with colgate on an old toothbrush and gently scrub marks. Remove scuffs from shoes-apply colgate with a tissue ruba and wipe off. Fill small holes in walls, dab colgate on hole and fill.

Lipton Tea Bags: Highlight brown hair- Rinse hair with brewed lipton tea for golden highlights. Relieves sunburn pain- Pat your sunburn with wet Lipton tea bags, Reduces swelling under eyes ~ brew tea, steep tea bags, let cool a quick bit then place over eyes til bags are cooled. Deodorizes stuffy rooms- Mix one quart brewed tea and four TBS lemon juice, strain through a coffee filter and store in empty spray bottles.Cleans varnished woodwork= cold lipton tea is a good cleaning agent for any kind of wood work.

I make my own vegetarian lasagne with a mixture of several cheeses, mushrooms, spinach, etc.

REC: Pepparkakkar (Swedish Spice Cake)

This is the recipe my grandmother, mother & aunts used. My sister doesn't use the cloves (she doesn't like cloves smileys/smile.gif, and I use just a teensy amount. We bake ours for 45 minutes and use a 10" Bundt pan. My cousin bakes hers in a 10" Corningware dish for 40 minutes. IMO this is one big delicious sugar cake.

Pepparkaka (Swedish Spice Cake)

2 cups flour
2 cups sugar
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. baking soda
2 tsps. cinnamon
1 tsp. cloves, ground
1 tsp. ground cardamom
2 eggs
1 cup sour cream
1/2 cup butter, melted

Place dry ingredients in a large bowl.
Beat 2 eggs in smaller bowl. Add sour cream & blend. Add to dry ingredients.
Swish a little of the melted butter in cake pan--enough to coat, then pour remainder into batter and blend. Pour batter into baking pan (like a 10” Bundt or tube pan).

Bake at 350 degrees for 40-45 minutes.

I like to sift powdered sugar on top...sometimes serve with whipped cream.

I just make my lasagna with lots of sauce, cheese, sometimes veggies, and stuff shells with sauce

I have a really good meat sauce mixture that has ground walnuts in it and I use that to stuff the big shells, liberally cover with cheese and bake. Who needs ricotta??!!

Yes, I've made them several times for Thanksgiving. I've kept that issue of BA all these years--lots

of great Thanksgiving recipes.

AnnVA your recipe looks great ~ ANOTHER ONE I must try ~ though Meryl won't ~ has CLOVES in it and

she hates hates hates cloves (that just kills me hahahaha)

I do like ricotta, but can I have your recipe for meat sauce with walnuts, Cheezz? (I don't suppose

amyone here wants my recipe for linguini with ricotta-walnut sauce).
