courtesy of 13 yr olds fight with her sister and a jelly jar, i attribute it to hormones. i have been getting along alright with the grill, toaster oven and crockpot, but it is time to replace, too many recipes to try. i am thinking possibly duel fuel, our kitchen is set up for it, required are, convection oven, warming drawer and controls if it is a gas cooktop, that a little one can't reach or are removable, the one year old loves buttons and knobs! i am looking to keep the cost under $4. less is even better. i have some ideas but would love input first. i promise tons of really good recipes, for now i have been flying by the seat of my pants, nothing to post for food. btw, not set on a duel fuel, all electric is great with me too.

I have are from much blood, sweat, and tears. But I'm happy with the one we ended up with. For weeks I was using only the crockpot, Forman grill, and microwave. I even tried made spaghetti noodles in an electric frying pan.

I was pretty sure I wanted a smooth top, and ended up with a basic GE. I wanted a warming oven too, but the only one I could find within our price range was one with coil tops. Time-baking was important to me, but in the end I figured "how much would I really use it" and ended up without. Estate makes a good one too - it's made by Whirlpool. Convection wasn't important to me, so I didn't really consider that for the difference in price. I think GE's "Tru Temp" models claim to be pretty colse to convection models though.

If you're set on a warming drawer, and want to keep it around $400 (maybe dreaming a little there!) a nice choice might the a GE coil one, model 320232; it has both a warming drawer and time-baking. These are all electric by the way - although we have gas heat, I didn't want it in the kitchen.

I need a new range too!!! Oven broke, so I still have the cooktop, but no baking??!?

What's duel fuel?

My requirements are electric, with convection oven, seriously considering induction and has to be slide in.

I've looked at the GE and GE Profile, which both have true convection ovens, with a heating element behind the fan, and radiant glass cooktop. Retail prices were $1700 and $2400, respectively. Unfortunately, they don't have a slide in induction model.

Also looked at the Electrolux, induction slide in, about $3100.

Any feedback on Electrolux? Induction?

 
not sure what "under $4" means, but my co-worker just put in an awesome JennAir dual

fuel double oven range with convection. Our price up here is $1929.95, no tax. I have the info tucked away for when I want to upgrade. It does not have the stovetop grill.
