I just made this chicken recipe for dinner and it is sooooo good. (m)

My cousin Gertie gave me this recipe years ago so it is known as:

Gerties' Chicken

1 cut up chicken (I buy the whole ones and cut them up myself.)

Mix together the following:

1 lg. onion-diced

4 TBlS. soy sauce

3/4 cup ketchup

3/4 cup water

3/4 cup brown sugar

1 tsp. garlic powder

Put chicken in a Pam sprayed pan and pour mixture over the chicken.

Bake 350* 1 1/2-2 hours.

I baked mine the 1 1/2 hours and it was browned nicely. I serve this with rice , as we like the

sauce on it. Enjoy!

I don't know if it is okay to say this but

my Mom used to make this recipe (yummmmmm) and called it 'bastard chicken'
something to do with dad working late...
I don't know, I was just a kid!
but it all worked out okay, they stayed in love to the end and we all ate great!

I would think 6-8 chicken breasts would be fine. This makes (m)

quite a bit of sauce. I use a 9x13" pan when I make it.
