RECIPE: I made this for dinner tonight, and oh yum! REC: Chinese Chicken Noodle Soup w/Sesame & Green Onion

RECIPE:
thanks marilyn - i've been wondering about that stuff. do you find the flavor fairly 'real'?

sometimes those preparations taste like chemicals. anyhow, any kitchen trick of yours is a kitchen trick of mine...so i'll keep my eyes open next time i'm in the big city.
by the way, 120 miles!? omg, i'll think of you when i'm whingeing about my 1/2 hour drive to work tonight. safe commuting to you, marilyn.

Sorry, missy...I didn't see this until now. I can definitely taste the difference

between fresh and this, but it works in hot things, like broth, so that's where I use it most often.

You get a scent of the lemongrass, but nothing like the beauty of the real stuff.

On the other hand, the preservatives aren't so obtrusive that it ruins the product. I've only tried the lemongrass, since it's the hardest to find in my area. I've never tried any of the fresh herbs.

I can get fresh cilantro, ginger root and herbs most any time of the year.
