I picked tomatoes!

How do you grow ferns in Alaska? I would think they would completely die in the winters.

What are those beautiful star shaped white flowers? They are lovely! They are in the tomato picture.

 
ferns are native and very hearty and can take over. white flowers are Edelweiss. very happy in the

rock wall. My dog has discovered the joy of eating young fiddlehead ferns, so I don't have nearly as many or as big this year. she munches them down to the ground.

 
Just beautiful! Didn't dh take on a project to make veggie garden last yr? I recall seeing photos

when it was in the early stages.

 
The farmers here stopped producing fiel tomatoes. It seems like a major chunk of summer enjoyment

has been extracted. They are all doing hothouse now. (I think we need more Italians on this island) But I can enjoy yours vicariously.

And I always love photos of your very beautiful garden and pooch.

 
When we were in Italy for 3 weeks 30 years ago, we traveled by train everywhere. And

every single train station had tomato and pepper plants growing around the station house.

I looked for the fresh mozzarella plants, but I think they hid those.
