I received a gift of Elderflower cordial....any suggestions of what to use it for besides..

That just reminds me of Anne of Green Gables and how Dear Diana drank too much of it!

boy I love that book. What a wonderful gift and the cupcakes sound amazing. I wonder how it would be mixed with a fruit for a sorbet or popsicle?

Love that book! The old TV movie was great too. I just got the mp3 download from the library

but unfortunately the reader is so "tinny" that I deleted it before Anne even arrived at the farm.

If ever there was perfect casting, it was Colleen Dewhurst and Richard Farnsworth for Marilla and Matthew. And Anne was perky and imaginative without being annoying....a tricky and narrow path to tread.

I took my mom to Prince Edward Island one year and had no clue we'd ended in up Green Gable Land.

Heather, it seems you and I have similar tastes in movies and books.

"Anne" is one of my favorite books.

I always felt a special kinship with her because my mother was Canadian. I agree about Colleen Dewhurst and Richard Farnsworth. I thought that TV movie got about as close as possible (although the sequel programs annoyed me because they didn't stick to the books). I'd love to go to PEI someday.

you would love it. And do the Cabot Trail on the same trip. Beautiful!

I agree with you on the sequels...preferred Anne when she was younger.

My life is a perfect graveyard of buried hopes. That's a sentence I...

...read once and I say it over to comfort myself in these times that try the soul. Would you please call me Cordelia?

Anne Shirley
from "Anne of Green Gables"

Another series by Montgomery is the Emily of New Moon, the (more)

story of a young author-to-be..
I have always wanted to visit PEI and the Alcott Orchard House.
