I want to make chow chow but can't get green tomatoes

Thanks. I have an old Farm Journal cookbook too and think I can get pretty close.

My aunt thought she had the recipe but can't find it.

Charley informs me I can't sub tomatillos, but there are plenty of cabbage or pepper chow chow recipes out there. Mine includes green tomatoes, peppers, onions and cabbage plus.

And if you like spicy, you could sub in some hot peppers for the green/bell peppers.

Gretchen is banned here, and on Epi. She ignores the Epi ban, since rules don't apply to her.

Her path of destruction is wide, and unabated it becomes the character of any forum she frequents.

She has attacked many, and drives people away who just don't want to deal with her "my way or the highway" attitude. It's truly obnoxious.

Sorry, but her "knowledge", which is often nothing more that a regurgitation of what she googles (without giving credit), is not worth the grief she causes. At least that's how I feel.
