I would love to know the experience of the food lovers here.

I'm a retired teacher who loves to cook and dine. I learned to cook from my

father who was a chef at Murray's in Montreal. Dad mostly worked in the Murray's in hotels. He never cooked at home except for holidays and my mother saw food preparation as a drudgery. I liked to cook and my father would coach from the sidelines. This initiation got me interested in searching out interesting recipes and the rest is history. Preparing excellent meals and sharing them with family and friends brings me great pleasure.

training at all. Unless you count chemistry class. ;o)

I mostly cook, not bake, but have been experimenting a little with that lately. Work has nothing to do with cooking, and I also have improved cooking/baking 500% since I first came to GRS/Finer Kitchens - I am surprised at all of the knowledge about food and techniques that I have now!
