He passed quickly and peacefully, surrounded by his dear wife, family and friends.

Go in peace, my friend. Your kind voice will be greatly missed.

Marilyn, I became overwhelmed with your news of Charlie and am so shocked .... he will be missed by

everyone he touched. I am so very sad......

So very sad. charlie was a gentleman's gentleman, and he always exemplified...

...what is good about our group. Always.

I'm deeply saddened by his passing.

Oh no! I am deeply saddened to hear this! Charlie and I exchanged

emails for many years. In addition to recipes and cooking tidbits I was very fond of the jokes and humor he would pass along....particularly the funny stories he would share during his time as a student at The Culinary Institute of America in New York. He was truly a gem and will be missed. My heart goes out to his family and friends!

I am having a tough time with this... I do remember him saying he saw your plane as you were leaving

NYC heading back to CA. Cracked me up, cause in NJ, we see flights in and out all the time. He said it nonchalantly that he looked up at your plane and waved. I remember that. Such a nice man. (that was years ago).

Pat, as you came up with his nickname, I am sure Chuckie is in a good spot, but I wished I knew if we

could have helped... I have had tears all day.

Actually (more)

my husband lost his sister almost three months ago.

Losing a sibling is very hard.

I think we are all more or less "ready" to deal with the loss of grandparents, parents, because it's expected. A sibling is a different story.

it hurts on a different, sharp, close level

I hope you are surrounded by loved ones to help you go through this phase
