If you could post a poll on this site, what would it be?

Okay, lemme give you some background...

For the new site I have been asked to come up with some polls. I have NO IDEA. Please help.

Did you ever notice that there is a "Quick Vote" section on the Food Network home page?

The subject varies, but I don't know how often it is changed. I've never bothered to vote, however. Maybe this is what they are looking for? I wonder if this is a method of measuring their "readership"? Or can that be done another way?

So Mimi do you mean things like: yes or no answers to questions such as:

Are you willing to pay 10% more for organically grown food?

Do you own a convection oven?

How many miles are you willing to go to check out a new restaurant with a good reputation?

Do you believe wild fish to be ultimately superior to farm-raised varieties?

Do you regularly attempt to lower your energy consumption in the kitchen?

Do you feel that you can produce a better quality meal at home than you are able to get at most restaurants?

OKay, so these are not real polls, as the wording has to be so carefully worked out so that the pollster can obtain some real direction on the question. But is that the kind of thing you mean? I think of one of those a day when I'm messing about in the kitchen.

Or are you wondering about this site...things such as:

Should we limit the number of months that a member can maintain old Private Messages?

SHall we shorten the main page to retain posts for fewer days?

Just not sure what you're seeking here.

How about:

What is your favorite kitchen utensil (maybe "quirky" kitchen utensil?) and why?

What are unusual combinations of foods that you have tried and would you try them again? Why or why not?

What do you prefer: Sub or Torpedo? Hoagy or Hero?

Dinner with Arnold Schwartzenegger or Richard Simmons? Meryl Streep or Britney Spears?

Above question: Now try the opposite of who you picked and try to figure out why you might LIKE to have dinner with that person.

The "entertainer" Carrot Top: Man or Surgically Enhanced Vegetable?

What are you an absolute coward about trying, foodwise?--Something that you are really afraid of, not that you merely think is "icky."

Best home-made quick dinner you have ever had?

Best food and sex movie (let's keep it clean!).

You are given 10 lbs of a vegetable that you have never even heard of, let alone seen. What do you do with it?

Kimchee or sauerkraut?

Little lambys or wittle bunnies for dinner? (YOU MUST CHOOSE ONE!)

I could go on and on--Geeze, I love this stuff!

A suggeston or two to help with a poll

What do you think for the following:

Is tomato a fruit or a vegetable?

Yes, it is a fruit
No, it is a vegetable

Do you prefer pre-cooked sides or do you make your own from scratch?

Prefer: Who has time, besides cooking from scratch is a lost "art"

Do Not prefer: Yuk, all those preservatives, no thank you

How do you get your children to eat healthy?

Do you: tell them that its good for them and they must do as you say?

Do you: Mask healthy foods by sneaking it into foods they like?

Do you: Educate them on healthy diets and have them help in the preparation?

Do you consider yourself a chef?

Yes, Emeril has nothing on me.

No, but I cook better than average.

I don't know, no one has died from my cooking yet.

Just a few suggestion ideas. Enjoy

Another thought

Assuming you're older, do you like to be in the kitchen more or less.

Is it ok to use purchased sauces now or do you still have to make your own.

What are some of your favorite purchased sauces?

How or on what do you use your favorite sauces.

do you plan meals ahead or do you always have a big variety in-house to choose from.

if you have leftovers what do you do with them or do you throw away leftovers, thinking fresh and cooked once is better for you.
