I'm curious how everyone feels about the PM feature. I use it, but not real often.

That's her. She will probably morph into some other alias. Many of the folks...

...I've received PM's from believe she posts on this board under various aliases right now.

She does the same over on Epi, I am told. I cancelled my membership over there last year. Just couldn't stand the foolishness any longer.

Same thing was happening to me. I called him/her/it on it and it stopped.

A lesson I learned from living in NYC:

this is still occurring but no one has contacted me. Feel free to contact me via PM (sans insults, spam etc) or email. If you've asked nicely and a user is still bugging you just forward me a snippet for documentation.

 
Paul, sometimes things are not so cut and dried that it requires contacting

you. Profanity and such is in a class of it's own. This person is long time and well known and has been banned from this site. She is condescending, bossy and argumentative. It seems she just acquires a new address but now instead of posting on the main page, because she knows the reaction, she does it with PM's. She's annoying and irritating. I have never responded to her hoping she would realize I'm ignoring her but she is beyond caring. Now that Joe has told me how to set the ignore I won't have to even know she is there. Problem solved. I'm a happy girl.

 
It truly is sad that someone who has so much to offer...

and she has given many of us good advice, just cannot suck it up and play well with other children.

Maybe his/her/it's next personna will blend in and play well with the rest of us next time without the bristles.

 
I agree, in spirit anyway, but I'm not hopeful. She sees absolutely nothing wrong...

...with her behavior, and believes many people here want her back just as she was. She told me that in her PM. I'm sure she has a few fans, but I doubt anyone would welcome the venom. Once you've been on the receiving end, you don't want it ever again, I promise you.

She's obviously an experienced cook and she Googles better than most. In fact, one wonders where one talent ends and the other begins. It's hard to tell.

We'll see if a leopard can change it's spots, but, truthfully, I don't want to be here if she starts up again. I don't need the grief. Any board she frequents takes on the manner and mode we all know as hers. I'll pass.

She wrote me a PM once, long time ago, though, after she had left...

I thought it was Charley and I replied as though I were writing to him. I laugh today because she never wrote back after that, thank God.

I did see on epicurious once they chided her for her argumentative style and they gave fair warning.

 
OMG all this time I thought the PM's I was getting were from Charlie. Now I know. How sneaky to just

change the spelling of the name of a popular poster.

 
I will never EVER forget once at EPI when Gretchen aka Charley here actually argued about a cooking

technique with charlie! The woman would simply not give up or admit that she was wrong.
