I'm joining Costco tomorrow night after work! What are your favorite food items and why?

Not food related - but their founder, Jim Sinegal, has a great business philosophy...

There was a really interesting piece on him on 60 Minutes in the last year or so. He only takes home 12 times the salary of the typical employee ($350K). Staff turnover is very low, and employee morale generally good. Costco's philosophy is based on 5 points in this order:

1. Obey the law
2. Take care of our customers
3. Take care of our employees
4. Take care of our vendors
5. Take care of our shareholders

Refreshing.

My Costco moved the green beans--the haricot verts.Go on a search.

But with any warehouse club you need to know what your supermarket charges. I can usually do better on toilet tissue on sale. Soft drinks also.
If the OP's Costco carries the Fischer and Weiss sauces--raspberry chipotle in particular, it is wonderful. Vanilla is a great price right now.

All of you are so lucky. We don't even HAVE Costco here yet. sigh.

Supposedly ground will be broken soon but still no shovels to be seen.

I know all about Costco- the other islands have them so I have shopped at them a lot. I am chomping at the bit to have one right here on Kauai to spend ALL my money at!

Good luck Sandy, let us know what goodies you found.

I stopped at Costco yesterday on the way home from Georgia and got one of the roasted chickens. We weren't hungry last night so am having it tonight with tabbouleh if I can find enough parsley to make it.
