Insanely delicious: Andrew Zimmern's One-Pot Sticky Chicken Wings.

I was just trying to think of something to make with the wings I have. Now if

I can just find chile garlic sauce without driving 50 miles I'll be all set. Recipe sounds great!

You're in luck. No chile garlic sauce in this recipe. smileys/smile.gif Also, I worried I may not have

mirin at home (I did, and forgot I had it) but a quick Google search yielded several more accessible substitutions. (White wine + sugar, etc.)

Do the supermarkets where you live have ethnic sections? Out here they always have an Asian and

Mexican sections. Chili Garlic Paste is very common and always available. You can also get it online. If you shop Amazon, you can bundle several purchases to reach $35.00 and get free shipping.

Thanks, Mar...I going to make the trek to a shopping are next week. There's a good

Asian food store, a Trader Joe's, and a boutique baby clothing store (favorite nephew and his wife are expecting their first) I want to hit.

Really appreciate the offer, my friend!

Walmart usually carries the chili garlic sauce, even in their non-super stores.

their small pantry type food aisles in the non-grocery stores usually has it and also sriracha sauce.

How the heck did you have leftovers? LOL The recipe said it serves 6 but not at my house....

re. the sake

I don't keep sake on-hand. I don't much care for it as drink other than the sweetish sparkling ones. I wouldn't be opposed to buying it but there is so much variation in different brands I wouldn't know where to start. If it's just the alcohol and not the flavor profile that's important I wonder if vodka would be OK. I have rice wine I could use although I think its alcohol content is lower than sake.

What have others used?
