Introducing my new creation - Blend de Provence!!

I've spent countless weeks perfecting this blend and fine-tweaking all associated costs involved in the making to give you a great product for your money. I use quality ingredients and no MSG or preservatives are included. A nominal amount of kosher salt is incorporated into the mix. My Blend de Provence is freshly blended with each order.

Blend de Provence is jam-packed with flavor and I'm happy to say that my friends agree too!

You can find my blend by logging into Facebook and searching for Eatopia Cottage Foods. For those who are not Facebook users, I've posted details and photos below:

Use Blend de Provence on fish, chicken, pork, lamb, beef, pasta, salads, oil dip, "garlic" bread, creamy dip. Make an herb butter or flavored cream cheese. Sprinkle on your vegetables, french fries, roasted potatoes. The list is endless! You'll love the lemony/garlic/herb flavor on any food!

You can order this refill bag for only $4.00. Orders must be emailed to me at contessafoodie (at) yahoo (dot) com. Free delivery to your door!

I highly recommend that you have a shaker jar on hand for this refill bag. It must be shaken, not stirred... This is the most inexpensive way to buy my blend. I'll provide a free label for your shaker jar.

Pan-seared center cut pork chops seasoned with my Blend de Provence (and a little more sprinkled on top afterwards...). My dinner was super-enhanced with Blend de Provence.

Did I mention that we duckies love to sprinkle it on our snails and small fish? It's the perfect condiment and I hope you'll like it too!

Hi Sandy,

It looks wonderful and I will be ordering some from you. I would like to suggest one thing. I think it would be worthwhile for you to rent a small P.O. Box, so that you are not giving your home address out to the public. This is advice from experience. It doesn't cost much, especially since you will be receiving mostly envelopes.
Good luck with your new business!

I would also recommend opening a paypal account so that people can

pay by credit/debit card. It doesn't cost much and it will certainly increase your sales. Also, I would look into Etsy. Talk to me about wholesale. It might be something I would like to carry at the cafe and Farmer's Market. Good luck!!!

Thank you so much Dawn. Unfortunately, I have to

clearly reveal my name and address according to Cottage Foods law. I have to follow all of their labeling requirements.

I look forward to sending you some!

Yes, labeling laws, but I don't think that is required when you

are advertising your product. As long as you have it stated on your product label, you would be following the law. You could say that it is prepared in a non-inspected kitchen under the state's cottage laws. But I don't think you have to include it with your advertising? Not sure, but I think it is all in the label. I know in MN my sister was selling baked goods that were prepared in her home, and she stated on her display that her baked goods were prepared in a home kitchen that was not inspected. She didn't have to give her address.

I will certainly look into Etsy. In fact I thought of it the other day

but have not researched. I'll also look into paypal as well.

Thank you for your help, fellow entrepreneur smileys/wink.gif

Dang computer got gummed up again. Nothing is mentioned about

advertising, but I would still need to provide my address on my FB page just like a website for people to order. I'd rather be upfront.

Thanks!

You should verify that you are allowed to market cottage foods online/via the internet or mail order

Unless there is some exception to the FL rule, I don't think you are allowed to market in those venues, it has to be direct to the consumer.

I love your product, and think it is a fabulous idea.

Sandy, there is a product sold in France that is so similar but that also contains dried red peppers

I always look for it when I am there as I just love it. I'm betting yours is wonderful as well. Bonne chance!!

Most people that I know have P.O Boxes for their businesses..

I really recommend not giving out your personal address.

Lisa, as far as I can see,

I can advertise on the internet but not take orders from there. That's why I provide my email address. However, upon looking at the Cottage Foods law applicable to Florida again tonight, I must have forgotten about the mail order restriction. You are absolutely right about it. It's been so long since I looked at it.

Oh well, I'll have to peddle my blend on the street.

Thanks for correcting me Lisa!! I really don't want to break any laws.

Well folks, how about some thumbs up on my Eatopia Cottage Foods Facebook page?

I certainly would appreciate it. Thanks!!

Just my two cents: I don't think Etsy is a good fit unless you have a whole line of seasonings...

Essentially, if you use Etsy, you're paying to use their platform--but discoverability is really the issue. There are tons of spices and seasonings sellers on there (not to say that B de P is not a worthy contender!), and it really works best if something about the product/shop fits the quirky, "Portlandia"-ish Etsy ethos (which has become ridiculously extreme in the last few years--any Treasury selection on the front page, on any given day, will bear this out). I've also found that you need professional photography to really stand out. (This is just my experience as a user of Etsy since its first day.) Additionally, any time you introduce a middleman (i.e., Etsy), you're going to fork over a percentage of each sale. Hope this is of some help...

The blend sounds delicious! Best wishes for lots of success. smileys/smile.gif
