ISO: ISO: Any ideas for collard greens? I have them growing in my garden and don't quite know what to do

Sounds delicious! I often drive through "Little Ethiopia" on my way to work. Someday

I'll stop and sample the cuisine.

Do you like Indian food? If so you will like Ethiopian. It's also a great

group outing. Eating is done off a communal platter placed in the center of the table. You tear off a piece of injera bread (similar to a crepe) and pick up the food with the bread in your fingers. (They'll give you a fork if you want). Also, many restaurants do a hand washing ceremony and some other neat things for groups.

Basil is such a drama queen!

All you have to do is transplant it, for heaven's sake, and it launches into hysteria: "Oh my God, I'm dying! Quick! Make flowers, make seeds! Someone to carry on the family name!" I spent the whole summer pinching off its flowers. "There, there. You're not dying, hon. See? The sun is out, it's hot, and the first frost isn't for at least another ten weeks."

Typical hot-blooded Mediterranean herb! Now sage...there's a nice stable plant.

LOL, but one of my sage plants died in a fit of self pity in the middle of summer.....

just because a zucchini leaf blocked it for week or so. Perhaps it got overwatered too but who hasn't?

I always had trouble with sage in San Diego...

they love to be in an arrid spot with lots of air circulation. Mine usually died from a fungus from being too wet. Try growing it in a drier spot that isn't surrounded by a lot of other herbs or veggies. They love the heat.
