Please don't recommend TJ's or I'll scream! We don't have one nearby! I've been buying Smucker's and used to use Polaner's fruit-sweetened strawberry jam. These, of course, are not overly sweet, because there's no processed sugar or corn syrup, but the strawberry taste is too muted. Any recommendations? Thanks.

Meryl, I personally love "Hero Swiss Preserves," all natural ingredients, no preservatives, no ...

artificial flavors or colors. If you would like to try them, let me know via PM and I will send you some.

Gay, thanks for the offer - I really appreciate it! But, guess what?! I just called

my local supermarket, and they carry that brand, so I can check them out!
I always find most jams much too sweet, so that's why I ended up with fruit-sweetened. I don't think I've ever tried Hero Swiss - I'll buy the strawberry one the next time I go shopping, and will let you know what I think. Thanks again - you're a sweetheart!

I agree Hero's is a good brand.

My parents make all our jam (yes, I'm spoiled), but I like Hero's when I've run out of the homemade stuff.

You mean "Bonne Maman." I've wondered about that brand over the years - have never tried it. I think

I'll try a jar of their strawberry and a jar of Hero's and compare.

I think it was Cook's Illustrated that recently compared the strawberry preserves-

and Bonne Maman, which I have always used, came out really poorly rated, the winner was really surprising, I think it was Smuckers or welch's or something pretty ordinary- Did amyone else read it?

I have only had the apricot, which is wonderful. Costco had some nice jars from Oregon, I think.
