Thanks Nan, I'll try it. I just know my Mom had a can of curry, probably for decades, that she

added to some dish or other and I can still taste that cloying taste in my mouth. That has turned me off to curry for ages. Time to give it another try. I had read that cooking it a bit in a pan brings out the flavors.

I don't like the flavors of the ones I buy, so I make my own...

Adjust it to your own taste... I don't like Anise, so I cut back on that in my recipe.

Homemade Curry Powder

6 tsp. Coriander powder
1 tsp. Cumin seed
1/4 tsp. Anise pseed
1 tsp. Black peppercorns
1 tsp. Dry tumeric
4 whole Cloves
1/4 tsp. Cinnamon (or 1/2” piece of stick)
3 whole nutmegs (or 1/4 tsp. powder)
1/4 tsp. Cardamom seeds (from 4 pods)

Dry roast each ingredient separately until fragrant, then cool. Grind all together in a coffee grinder. Makes ~2 Tablespoons

Perhaps you didn't cut off all of the white part of the orange? Or cooked it

in an aluminum pan??

Nope, I did neither of these things. I just think I cooked it in the non-stick pan too

long before putting in the Pyrex in oven.

OKAY! OKAY! My face IS red....I just drank the rest of the juice I squeezed

from my supposedly sweet oranges and ...the juice was BITTER! Either some of the rest of the oranges were bitter or I squeezed a little TOO vigorously...
