ISO: ISO MoNJ, how'd the party go?

In Search Of:
LOL, I can't tell you how many times I thought of you during my

hectic week/party day. You were "talking me down" every time I got to thinking I didn't have enough food, or maybe I should make just one more thing.... I would think Joe was right, STOP IT!! Less cheese!! smileys/smile.gif

The party went really well, the last guests were leaving at 2:15 am!! smileys/frown.gif I pretty much stuck to the revised food list. I underestimated how much time it took to assemble things, so it was a cram at the end. I messed up the focaccia earlier in the day, so that took a chunk of time I didn't have.smileys/frown.gif Was also thinking Cheez was right, next year, cater and make just one cool thing. smileys/wink.gif Guests were arriving as I was putting the Greek salad bites together (my darn SIL, aka "The Inspector" had to arrive 1/2 hour early, not to help, mind you, just to take it all in and have a jealous puss on smileys/frown.gif

I will try to post photos and buffet pics later today or tomorrow. Just back to work. smileys/frown.gif

Thanks again for the moral support. smileys/smile.gif

Congratulations! When the guests leave after 2:00 AM, you know the party was a huge success.

And I'm sure your SIL's jealous puss was worth all the trouble.

I go through the same thing. No matter how many hours I've cooked and how overflowing the refrigerator is, I panic at the last minute and think I don't have enough food. I'm glad I'm not the only one.

I'll look forward to those pics.

Geeze are you serious - I always worry about not enough...

the poor friends I did the suprise birthday party for will be eating fajitas for weeks. I thought people would expect more of a meal for a 7pm football watching/surprise birthday party but they didn't. Oh well, they freeze well.

Dead serious. Once, only once in my life, I didn't have enough food. We had a barbecue,,,

many years ago for a midsummer-night's party, some unexpected, hungry guests showed up, I was running behind, and when it finally came time to eat, the platters were emptied faster than we could fill them.

I still have bad dreams about that night, and I've been overcompensating ever since.
