Gave this a try. Since I had no port, I dredged up a vintage dandelion...
wine from the back of the hall closet. It has to be at least twenty years since I made it and probably a lot more. Wow! Worked fine and of course I had to taste it to make sure it hadn't spoiled. I think I could pass it off as a tawny port, or maybe sherry--have nothing in the house to compare it to. Ah, that was my wine-making period! LOL
I'll have to dredge up the recipe for you. It's made with dandelion blossoms so
it may be too late -it is, here in Mass. You also use yeast and raisins (alcoholic raisins, a great by-product)--always thought it should really be called raisin wine. I'll post it if I can find it, as I said it's really vintage.

I didn't know dandelions had a season, I thought they were all summer long, but looking out at my lawn I can only see a few, a lot more clover than dandlions.
