These things are SO good, I could eat a dozen at one sitting! They are crunchy and chewy and the chocolate tastes like any good chocolate - certainly not carob, and not lacking in texture.

The ingredients say:

corn flakes, peanut butter, corn syrup, raw sugar, vanilla, vegan semi-sweet chocolate

Anyone have a recipe???!! I'm not vegan, so doesn't have to conform to dietary restrictions!

Rice Krispie Chocolate Roll - very delish. Ingredients seem similar but its shaped into a yule log

Very pretty, easy and quick. I do all the cooking in one microwave bowl.

Rice Krispie Chocolate Roll

¾ cup corn syrup
¾ cup white sugar
¾ cup peanut butter
2 tablespoons butter
4½ cups rice krispies

Filling:
3 tablespoons milk
2/3 cup cocoa
1½ cups icing sugar
1/3 cup butter

Cook sugar, corn syrup and butter, until boiling, over medium heat. Remove from heat and add peanut butter. Mix until smooth, then add rice krispies. Spread mixture in lightly buttered cookie sheet (10x15). (I lightly spray or grease pan)

Cook milk and butter just until boiling. Add icing sugar. Mix well. Add cocoa. Mix well. Spread on rice krispie base. Roll up into log (lengthwise). Refrigerate and cut into slices when firm.

(vegan semi-sweet chocolate can be substituted)

 
The ingredients say "corn flakes", but seems same otherwise! Can you buy the vegan chocolate?

 
Hey cheezz, "vegan" chocolate is really just typical bittersweet or unsweetened chocolate, which is

dairy-free. If you want some brands that actually have "vegan" on their labels, I think Paul Newman has some, as well as Tropical Source, and Green and Black's. But, really, most bittersweet chocolate should be dairy-free, although, sometimes there are exceptions. For example, Ghirardelli's semi-sweet and 60% bittersweet contain milk fat (don't know about their 70%), but most bittersweet chocolates will be free of all animal products.
