ISO: ISO rub/marinade/grilling ideas for shrimp, chicken and scallops

Store-bought, but awfully good: Lawry's 30 minute Hawaiian Marinade...

Tangy, fruity, not real sweet. I used this twice this week, first with thick-cut pork chops and then with chicken thighs, bone-in. Marinated for 1 hour and grilled on Cusinart Electric grill. DELICIOUS! Marsha tbay's Pineapple Fried Rice (I used white rice), post # 3104, was a perfect accompaniment.

Thanks Charlie - this sounds really good! Is it really 1/4 cup salt?

If so, I assume some kind of large grain sea salt, not table salt?

And do you eat the marinated lemons?

Hey Pat! Shrimp sound wonderful and I'll make them soon. I recently saw

someone on the Food Network do grilled shrimp (can't remember who) and he said the best way to skewer is to thread them on 2 side by side ones instead of scrunching them onto one. Said they cook more evenly. Do you do this or just use one? Thought I'd give it a try...looked good.

I think the point of using 2 is to keep them from flopping around as you turn the skewers but I've

not found that to be a problem with shrimp. I always use 1 OR do without the skewer and place straight on the grill, depending of course on the quantity of shrimp you're grilling and how you'd like your presentation to be.

1/4 cup is correct--and I do use Kosher--it cures the lemons like they...

do in many countries like Morocco. You do indeed eat the lemons or as much of them as you like.

Lawry's Teriyaki marinade "with pineapple juice" is also very excellent! ...

It has a hint of fresh ginger. Tastes homemade.

I usually use chicken with this marinade....

for a quickie dinner or appetizer. I usually make my own marinades...but I'm not sure my teriyaki would be any better than Lawry's bottled. I like the fresh ginger flavor. I might have used it on pork tenderloin too.

Thanks - they all look great - it was difficult picking on - but I did the Unbelievable Marinade

and it was unbelieveably wonderful!!!

Next on the to-try list is the Spedini and then the plum skewers

Thanks again

Tess
