The other common method is to flip the crust. Oil one side, grill it oiled side down

till golden brown, usually about 2 or 3 minutes, then put it on a plate, cooked side UP, put on toppings, and grill another 3 minutes or so. By the time the bottom is cooked properly, the topping will be done.

Yes, that is what I did...

I had one pizza on the hot side, browning one side, and one pizza on the med. side, melting the toppings. When the pizza browning the crust was done, the pizza with the toppings was usually done too. Having a hot area and slightly hot area really helped in not burning any crusts. They all came out a nice golden brown. Like I said though, nine individual pizzas were too many to do at one time. I will definitely be doing communal pizzas next time.

thanks for the tips. I want to try this when the g-kids come to visit. should be fun to have them

make their own pizzas. I especially like the fresh sauce that rosie posted. the parents should be happy with that recipe. they eat more organic than I do.

Grilled pizzas should be without sauce as it makes them soggy.Just use...

cheese first, then toppings like sundried oiled tomatoes, basil leaves, etc. but not too much stuff.
