ISO: ISO : unusual and good things you have found at Costco.

In Search Of:
Not unusual, but GREAT are the PRIME steaks on the blue styrofoam.

For $9.99 per pound you get the absolutely best steak in town! Similar quality at Central Market is upwards of $20 per pound. Look for the blue packaging in the fresh meat dept. Nothing else says that they are prime grade.

Not unusual either, but good: 4-pack Hillshire Farms Kielbasa. 18-pack Yoplait yogurt,

6-pack of anchovy 2-oz. tins, sliced black forest ham, and those wonderful mini-bell peppers in different colors. Toss them with a little oil, balsamic, and oregano and grill whole. Use a grill basket, which you might be able to buy there too. Serve as finger food.

Almost forgot the large tubs of kalamata olives in the refrigerated case. I joined Costco because

the local Sam's quit carrying them. That was back before olives were so readily available in delis, etc.

Had a nail in my tire - unrepairable - and they prorated the cost

of a new tire - it cost us $26 for a new Michelin!

Goat cheese, feta cheese are much cheaper there...

we recently bought excellent top sirloin steak for $3.19/lb, and we just about live on their chicken thighs. The raspberries are wonderful and cheap, so are the blackberries and blueberries in season, and the asparagus; not to mention printer paper.

We buy so much at Costco, we would live much less well without it.

Any cheese, we love the parm, Tillamook extra sharp cheddar, and boursin.

The Harris Ranch products in the heat and serve area are excellent, as are the Main Street Bistro Mashed Potatoes. Makes an excellent quick meal on busy nights when you crave comfort food.

The Kirkland vanilla, and their no-salt seasoning is very good.

Their produce is always excellent - we buy apples by the case, grapes, baby cucumbers, and romaine hearts regularly.

I agree with Lana, we wouldn't live nearly as well without Costco.
