Cathy is so charming....and funny....and warm....and lovely....and of course an incredible cook. She and her husband Kriss are such gracious hosts and their amazing home was so beautifully decorated for Christmas.. Soon after meeting Cathy and Kriss it felt like we had reunited with dear dear old friends that we had known forever.
Everything Cathy prepared was delicious! We started with her addictive layered pesto torte, creamy James Beard pate, and really cute festive smoked salmon Christmas trees. All of it was so so good -- we had to cut ourselves off from appetizers so we wouldn't be stuffed before dinner. For dinner she made fabulous beef bourguignon accompanied by poppyseed noodles, steamed green beans and the ever-popular cranberry and pecan salad with balsamic vinaigrette. It was all so delicious. We were so full -- I thought I was going to burst and didn't have any idea where I was going to put dessert. But we managed, lol. Her lemon pie was one of the best I've ever had. The assorted Christmas cookies and flourless chocolate cake were equally as yummy. Cathy is passionate about cooking and it shows through her flavorful dishes, beautiful presentation and attention to detail. Clearly she had been cooking and baking for days and days and it was much appreciated all.
We are still basking in the glow of such a wonderful aloha-filled Christmas spent with Cathy and Kriss -- it was truly a day that will live long in our memories.
