It was so lovely to finally meet CathyZ!!!

Two lovely ladies - I KNEW you two would be instant friends smileys/smile.gif Still JEALOUS though!

Yes-lots of them. Have had bubble lights on a tree since I was a small kid

It is so much fun to show people bubble lights here- most have never run across them before. It simply is not Christmas for me without them.

I loved how you went out to your garden "in the dead of winter" to clip fresh dill

to garnish the platter. Okay, so it's far from the dead of winter temperature-wise here in Hawaii right now, lol, but still, I was impressed, Cathy, that you are able to grow such lovely herbs at this time of year. Color me envious.

Oh, and the leaves lining the platter underneath the smoked salmon trees...what is that plant called? Those leaves are so gorgeous.

Those are generally the big green Ti leaves Pat- the ones I used are more ornamental

They could be used for Kalua Pork or for Lau Lau but one would have to use more of them and because they are thinner it is just clumsier to use them. There is a variety of green Ti leaves that has large, wide sturdy leaves- used for the Imu and also for hula skirts.
