Jiffy Cookie dough

1 box Jiffy brand yellow cake mix. (Jiffy is a small box and makes just one layer.)

1 large egg

1 tsp. vanilla extract

1/4 C. vegetable oil

Put cake mix into bowl. Add all the other ingredients and mix with hand mixer until all ingredients are combined. Add the following:

1 6-oz. pkg. chocolate chips

6 oz. coarsely chopped or broken pecans

Stir into the cookie dough. Drop by rounded teaspoonfuls onto baking sheet and bake at 350° F for 10-12 minutes until lightly browned around the edges and pale golden in the middle. I use a double "air-filled" cookie sheet for these. This will make about 24 cookies. Recipe can easily be doubled. You can also add raisins or other items you especially like to the basic mix. The dough with chips and nuts will be VERY full of the chocolate and nuts and the dough is just barely holding them together. Don't worry. These bake up perfect; there is plenty of cookie with a good balance of chips and nuts. Crispy on the edges and soft and chewey in the centers.
