Marilyn, I did bake it in the Pi plate...
It was a test run so I could give Steve either a thumbs up or down on baking in them.
I thought that the texture of the filling was very good, but it definitely needed more spice added. I didn't have ground cloves, so I subbed allspice, but I could have doubled the amount, and added a bit more cinnamon.
I put the filled plate onto a pizza pan and put it into a preheated 450° oven. No problem...it baked beautifully and the bottom crust was cooked and didn't stick to the plate.
I needed to bake the pie a bit longer than the recipe called for, but that may be my oven. I think it tends to run a bit on the cool side.
What the recipe called for that I would not recommend is putting the plate with bottom crust into the fridge while mixing the filling. The extra chill might be too much for the plate to handle.
Sorry for rambling so much...good luck!
