Julia Child Dinner from "Mastering the Art of French Cooking"

barb_b, no special occasion, but it was

just an excuse to have a carb holiday in the kitchen, get together with wonderful friends who appreciate all this excess, and it was our wonderful puppy Bragi's first birthday (who ate a dish of chicken and carrots, and was quite happy).

Everything looks fabulous, Richard. smileys/smile.gif A question about the Moet -

do you prefer it over the White Star or Imperial? I've not yet tried the Nectar, it is next in my bubbly queue.

Nectar Imperial is my favorite.

It has a lot more flavor and really stands up to pate and foie gras. After our first sip, everyone lowered there glasses with very happy expressions.
