Just want to wish those of you celebrating - a Happy Hanukah tonight.

Pining for latkes . . . .

Just don't know how to make them without stinking up the condo for months - emphasis on months.

There's such a distinctive smell of years of latkes, chicken soup, etc. walking into old apartment buildings in NYC, but not so in Chicago. At least not where I have lived.

Does anyone have any ideas? Maybe I should start slowly . . . I've made chicken soup and matzoh balls several times in the past couple of weeks. SO good!

Me too! I'm very connected to a beautiful black swan so I could scoot

in close to her in a seat. Right?

Right! I'll bring a bottle of Covenant Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon 2005 and

you can bring the potato latkes!

No matter, we'll shmooze our way in orchid!!

I have to tell you that here in Israel - jelly donuts are the required dessert on Hanukah....

They appear a few weeks before the holiday and disappear a few weeks after!

You have never seen such a selection as this year.
I bought plain, milk chocolate covered with m&ms
dark chocolate with a stick of excellent chocolate cubes, for the kids and tiramisu flavored inside, strawberry topped with a marscapone filling for the grown ups.
They were all unbelievable. There are also empty
ones with a injector!! You can add your own filling. Unbelievable.

I am going to try baking some for the weekend.

Not sure of this. Do you mean that in a retail shop, you use the injector to select from

a variety of fillings and make off with your choice?
